12th Annual Fourth of July Celebration - Friday begins the weekend with hot beach music by Catalina followed by the eclectic sound of The Fantastic Shakers. The July 4th Parade begins Saturday at 9 a.m. (the parade route follows the east bound lane of Hwy 49 from Caldwell Road to Robinson Avenue) and continues with a day filled with arts, crafts, games and amusements.  Enjoy the entertaining Giannini Brass BandDa Throw Back Band (70's tunes) and deja Vu (classic rock) followed by fireworks. Don't forget the great festival foods such as funnel cakes and cotton candy!

Change in Veteran Benefits

The Cabarrus County Veterans Services office expects more veterans coming in the doors as The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) opens healthcare eligibility to veterans in higher income brackets. Beginning June 15, new regulations take effect that will allow veterans whose incomes previously exceed income thresholds – Priority Group 8 veterans – to enroll in the VA’s healthcare system. The Cabarrus County Veterans Services office can assist local veterans in determining their eligibility under this new regulation. Mini Golf Tournaments

If you have a talent for putting, then make plans to participate in one of several Mini Golf Tournaments at Frank Liske Park this summer. Tournaments are available in three formats: singles play, parent/child teams, or 2-person co-ed teams. Tournaments will be held on Friday evenings June through August. Register for swim lessons

Camp TN Spencer Park pool. 

First session begins June 16th.  Children ages 3 and up can register for classes based on their ability level.  There are group lessons, semi-private lessons and private lessons available.  Cost for a 6-class session starts at $45 per person.  For more information, call Camp Spencer Park 704-788-7946 or visit the pool. Summertime Magic
